Drug Treatment Research

BAART Programs actively participates in various scientific endeavors relating to addiction treatment and related community healthcare. Founded in San Francisco, it has been our mission to offer the communities we serve drug rehabilitation options that are both affordable and effective.  We know that research in these areas is key to understanding the best options for our patients, whether they struggle with alcohol addiction, or substance abuse of prescription medications and other opiates.

Our treatment modalities are by-and-large evidence-based.  Further, we collect data to inform the work we do.  As such, we collect data on the effectiveness of our treatments and the overall satisfaction of our patients.  Data regarding the effectiveness of our NTP Programs can be found on the “Our Effectiveness” page.  We are constantly striving to provide data and a better understanding of how counseling is related to drug addiction, and how other factors help or prohibit successful rehabilitation to methadone, cocaine and other substance addictions.

We also participate in clinical research and have past and current collaborations with major research organizations, such as universities and Government entities.

On this page are three major areas of scientific information:
1) Recent or current research projects carried out at BAART Programs.
2) Papers or presentations by BAART employees or students affiliated with BAART Programs.
3) A list of Papers, Research and Presentations that are integral to our field.
